19世紀までは欧州の時代でしたが、20世紀はアメリカの時代だと栄一は読んでいたのでしょう。これが的中しました。両国の間には不幸な戦争の歴史が残るとはいえ、20世紀の日本はアメリカとともに繁栄しました。
20世紀は画一的な価値観によって、世界の先進国がほぼ同時に豊かになりました。しかし、21 世紀の世界は多様です。その多様性にアメリカは応えようとしているように見えますが、果たして日本はどうでしょうか。
普遍的な価値感も忘れてはならない
And, despite the all the diversity in our world, we must especially not forget that, like the North Star that is always in the same spot above the horizon, there are common values that is shared by all of human kind. The hope that not only ourselves, but that our next generations to come will be leading happy and prosperous days.
