In a pure Socialist economy, there is only one owner of land, labor and capital -- the Government.
— Ron Paul (@RonPaul) 2019年4月26日
When government is the only owner, there can be no trade.
Without trade, there can be no market prices.
Without market prices, there can be no profits and losses.
— Ron Paul (@RonPaul) 2019年4月26日
Without profits and losses, there is no rational way to know how and where land, labor and capital should be allocated. There's no way to know what should be produced and what production should be stopped.
This is why pure Socialists economies collapse so quickly. Socialist leaders have no clue what they're doing. Literally.

To the degree that Socialist policies are shackled onto a market economy (like the U.S.) the economy erodes and falls apart. It's a slippery slope into chaos.
