カリフォルニア州の公正雇用住宅局は9日、黒人の従業員が人種差別的なひぼう中傷を受け、賃金や昇進で差別されているなどとして、テスラを州の地方裁判所に提訴しました。
訴状では、テスラの工場で、黒人の従業員が多く働いている部署が「奴隷船」などと呼ばれたり、黒人の従業員が「アフリカに帰れ」などと言われたりしているとして、州の法律などに違反している疑いがあるとしています。
これに対し、テスラは「カリフォルニア州の当局と原告団が編み出した物語は、事実に基づく証拠ではない」などと反論しています。
アメリカでは、ゲーム大手、アクティビジョン・ブリザードが去年、職場で性差別があったとして当局から提訴され、その後、経営問題へと発展していて、電気自動車業界を席けんしているテスラの経営が今回の提訴を受けて揺らぐのか、注目が集まっています。
