6日付の英紙タイムズは、英南部での元ロシア情報機関員らへの襲撃事件で使われた神経剤ノビチョクについて、英政府がロシア南部シハニの軍研究施設で製造されたと同盟国に説明したと報じた。英政府は確認しておらず、信ぴょう性は不明。
同紙は判断の根拠となった情報の具体的な中身について報じていないが、英情報機関の説明が、米欧などが150人以上のロシア外交官を追放する措置につながったとしている。
同紙によると、シハニで検出されたノビチョクは戦場で使うよりも量が少なく、英当局はロシアがノビチョクを暗殺に使用できるかどうかをテストしていたとみている。
