North Korea's state-run media has reported that a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party was held on Saturday.
The report said that the country's leader Kim Jong Un presided over the meeting, which was held to discuss major issues involving the party's activities and the building of defense capabilities.
It said the meeting will continue, but did not mention the denuclearization negotiations with the United States or the country's missile program.

北朝鮮国営の朝鮮中央テレビは29日午前９時すぎからの放送でキム・ジョンウン委員長が出席して、重要政策を決定する党の中央委員会総会が28日、開催されたと伝えました。
総会では「革命の発展と変化した内外の情勢の求めに応じて、わが国の戦略的地位と国力を一層強化するための路線が提示される」としていますが、アメリカとの非核化交渉やミサイル開発についての言及は伝えられていません。
総会は引き続き開かれるとしています。
去年の総会では史上初の米朝首脳会談の開催を見据え核実験やＩＣＢＭ＝大陸間弾道ミサイルの発射実験を中止する方針が発表されました。
しかし、北朝鮮は３回の首脳会談を経てもなお非核化交渉が停滞する中、制裁の解除に応じないアメリカに不満を募らせていて、交渉期限を一方的に年末に定めて譲歩を迫っています。
総会で核やミサイル開発について新たな方針が示されるかに関心が集まっています。

North Korea's state-run media has reported that a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party was held on Saturday with its leader Kim Jong Un present.
The report said the meeting will continue but did not mention whether the agenda included the denuclearization negotiations with the United States or the country's missile program.
North Korea has given the US until year end to offer concessions to break the deadlock in denuclearization talks.
The party's newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on Sunday that the meeting was held to discuss major issues involving the party's activities and building of the national defense.
The report said the immediate orientation of the struggle of the party and the state and important policy issues for new victory in their revolution were included in the agenda.
Kim Jong Un is said to have given a report on the work of the party and overall state affairs.
