With tariffs, we run into the same unsolvable problem that we have with The Federal Reserve. The Fed doesn't know what interest rates should be. It's all arbitrary.

関税に関しては、連邦準備制度理事会の場合と同じ解決不可能な問題にぶつかります。連邦準備制度理事会は金利がいくらであるべきかを知りません。すべては恣意的です。
同様に、大統領は自動車や木材、その他の製品の価格がいくらであるべきかを知りません。
Fed の場合と同様に、恣意的な決定は政治的決定になります。ロビー活動がうまくいき、政権が政治的利益を見出した場合、関税はそれを反映する可能性が高くなります。
私たちは、すでに企業主義的なシステムに縁故主義をさらに根付かせています。
民主党が政権を握ったら何が起こるでしょうか？民主党は製品や関税率も恣意的に選択するのでしょうか？
これらはどれも必要ではありません。しかし、政府、支出、負債、帝国の圧倒的な規模--必要なものは避けられています。
拡大する軍事帝国、「外国援助」、そして絶え間ない戦争を抱えたアメリカは、決して「再び偉大になる」ことはできない。
しかし、今日現在、誰もまだ譲歩を拒否している。
