米議会 イスラム過激派への攻撃強化を NHKニュース
イスラム過激派組織「イスラム国」は２日までに、アメリカ人ジャーナリスト、スティーブン・ソトロフ氏を殺害したとする映像を公開し、アメリカ政府は情報の確認を急いでいます。
アメリカ議会では野党・共和党のルビオ上院議員が声明を発表し、「イスラム国に対しては、もっと早い段階から強い対応を取っておくべきだった」として、オバマ政権の対応を批判しました。
また、同じ共和党のロイス下院外交委員長も、「政府は直ちに、イスラム国の指導部を狙った無人機による空爆を実施すべきだ」との声明を出し、議会では野党・共和党を中心に、イスラム国への攻撃を強化すべきだという声が強まっています。
一方、ホワイトハウスのアーネスト報道官は２日、声明で、イラクの首都バグダッドのアメリカ大使館の警備強化などのため、軍の兵士３５０人を追加派遣することを明らかにしました。
声明ではさらに、４日からイギリスで開かれるＮＡＴＯ＝北大西洋条約機構の首脳会議でも対応策を話し合うとしており、オバマ政権としては、「イスラム国」に対する国際的な包囲網作りを急ぎたいものとみられます。
