ISIS lost most of its ammunition & heavy vehicles in Russian airstrikes – military — RT News
Islamic State militants have lost "most" of their ammunition, heavy vehicles and equipment in Russian airstrikes, the Defense Ministry said Tuesday. At least 86 ISIS targets were hit during 88 sorties in the last 24 hours.
Sukhoi Su-24M and Su-34 bombers, together with Su-25SM ground support aircrafts targeted Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) sites in the provinces of Raqqah, Hama, Idlib, Latakia and Aleppo, according to the ministry. The jets hit command posts, ammunition and armament depots, military vehicles, plants producing explosives, field camps and bases.
Su-24M bombers also targeted an IS field headquarters near the city of Anadan in the province of Aleppo from which the terrorists coordinated their activities. There was an ammunition depot at the site, the ministry said.
One more IS field post was destroyed near the city of al-Bab in Aleppo Province.
An Su-34 bomber airstrike completely destroyed a bunker with an ammunition depot near Latamna in the province of Hama, the ministry said in a press release.
According to intercepted communications, the militants suffer from shortages of ammunition, small arms and grenade guns. Several commanders allegedly say they will withdraw their units unless their ammunition needs are satisfied.
“Russian airstrikes resulted in the elimination of the majority of ISIS ammunition, heavy vehicles and equipment,” the Defense Ministry tweeted.
Russia launched its anti-IS military operation in Syria on September, 30, at the request of the Syrian government. Western countries have voiced concerns that Russia rather targets moderate opposition in Syria, but Moscow says it is after terrorist groups such as IS and Al-Nusra Front.
“[Western countries] say we are bombing false targets. On Sunday US air forces targeted a power station and a transformer in Aleppo. Why did they do it? Whom did they punish? What was the sense? That is unclear,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense has prepared an agreement concerning the safety of flights in Syria and sent it to US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter, who confirmed that talks are being held. However, no agreements have yet been reached, RIA Novosti reported.

内戦が続くシリアで、アメリカを中心とする有志連合は、１１日、攻勢をかける過激派組織ＩＳと戦う反政府勢力に対して、武器の支援を行う一環として航空機から投下する形で弾薬の供与を始めました。
これについて、シリアでＩＳを対象にするとして空爆を続けるロシアのプーチン大統領は、１３日、「弾薬や装備がすべてＩＳ側に渡ってしまうおそれはないのか。渡らないという保証はどこにあるのか」と述べ、アメリカによる武器支援を強く批判しました。そして、「ロシアは、シリアでの主導権を争っているわけではない」と主張し、「テロは、アメリカとロシア、それにヨーロッパにとって危険だ」として、対テロでの連携の重要性を強調しました。
そのうえで、メドベージェフ首相率いるロシアの代表団をワシントンに派遣して、シリアの和平に向けた協議を行うよう、アメリカ側に提案したことを明らかにしました。
プーチン大統領は、アサド政権を含めた「反テロ連合」の創設を呼びかけており、シリアでの戦略の練り直しを迫られているアメリカに揺さぶりをかけるねらいがあるとみられています。

The Russian Foreign Ministry has questioned the effectiveness of the US-led year-long air campaign in Syria, saying it’s unclear “why the results of so many combat sorties are so insignificant.” Failing to curb ISIS, the US has now “adjusted” its program.
“We have very few specifics which could explain what the US is exactly doing in Syria and why the results of so many combat sorties are so insignificant,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told Russian channel NTV. “With, as far as I know, 25,000 sorties they [US-led air campaign] could have smashed the entire [country of] Syria into smithereens,” the minister noted.
Lavrov questioned the Western coalition's objectives in their air campaign, stressing that Washington must decide whether its aim is to eliminate the jihadists or to use extremist forces to pursue its own political agenda.
“Maybe their stated goal is not entirely sincere? Maybe it is regime change?” Lavrov said, as he expressed doubts that weapons and munitions supplied by the US to the so-called “moderate Syrian opposition” will end up in terrorists’ hands.
“I want to be honest, we barely have any doubt that at least a considerable part of these weapons will fall into the terrorists’ hands,” Lavrov said.
American airlifters have reportedly dropped 50 tons of small arms ammunition and grenades to Arab groups fighting Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in northern Syria. US officials assure concerned partis that the fighters have been screened and are really confronting IS.
"We do not want the events, when [some countries] not only cooperated with terrorists but plainly relied on them, to happen again,” Lavrov said, recalling that the French, for instance supplied weapons to anti-government forces in Libya in violation of a UN Security Council resolution.
On Tuesday, Washington ‘adjusted’ its controversial program of aiding the Syrian rebels, opting to vet commanders rather than individual fighters, and provide supplies instead of training.
“The train-and-equip program has changed, but it has not gone away. We’re still equipping moderate Syrian opposition fighters,” Colonel Steve Warren, spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve, told the press.

ロシアのインターファクス通信は１３日、シリアの首都ダマスカスにあるロシア大使館に向けて砲弾が撃ち込まれ、敷地内に着弾したと伝えました。大使館員にけがはないということですが、詳しい被害の状況は分かっていません。
当時、大使館の周りには、ロシアがアサド政権を支援して先月からシリアでの空爆に乗り出したことに感謝するため、アサド政権の支持者数百人が集まっていたということです。
この空爆について、ロシアは、過激派組織ＩＳ＝イスラミックステートを壊滅することが目的だとしていますが、反政府勢力は、ＩＳだけでなく、みずからも空爆の対象になっていると反発していることから、今回の砲撃は反政府勢力による報復という見方が出ています。
また、前日の１２日には、ＩＳとは別のイスラム過激派組織「ヌスラ戦線」の指導者がインターネット上に音声の声明を出し、すべての反政府勢力に対してアサド政権やロシアと戦うため結集するよう呼びかけるなど、ロシアの軍事作戦をきっかけにシリアの内戦は一層激化しています。
シリアにあるロシア大使館の敷地に砲弾が撃ち込まれたことについてロシアのラブロフ外相は、１３日「テロとの戦いの支持者を脅すための明確なテロ行為だ」と述べて、非難しました。そのうえで、「シリアの首都ダマスカスの郊外は、現在も、過激派組織ＩＳや、『ヌスラ戦線』の影響下にある」と述べ、アサド政権と協力してどの勢力が砲撃したか調査するとしています。
過激派組織ＩＳは１３日、スポークスマンの役割を担っているアドナニ容疑者の名前で、インターネット上に４０分余りの音声の声明を投稿しました。
この中で、ＩＳは「ロシアは打ち負かされる」とロシアを非難したうえで、「イスラム教徒の若者たちよ。どこにいてもアメリカとロシアを攻撃しろ」と述べ、イスラム教徒に対してアメリカとロシアへの報復攻撃を呼びかけています。ロシアが先月３０日にシリアで空爆に乗り出して以降、ＩＳがロシアを名指しして非難する声明を出すのは初めてとみられます。
また、声明では、アメリカが８月に、空爆で殺害したと発表していたＩＳの指導者バグダディ容疑者の側近のファディル・アフマド・ハヤリ幹部について、実際に殺害されていたことを認めました。
一方で、バグダディ容疑者については、イラク軍が１１日に乗っていた車列を空爆したと発表し、生死の確認を進めていますが、声明では言及していません。
