アメリカとロシアは２２日、過激派組織ＩＳ＝イスラミックステートなどへの攻撃を除いて今月２７日から停戦に入るようアサド政権と反政府勢力の双方に呼びかける共同声明を発表しました。
これを受けて、アメリカのオバマ大統領は２３日、イギリスのキャメロン首相やフランスのオランド大統領、それにドイツのメルケル首相とテレビ会議を開きました。
ホワイトハウスによりますと、この中で４か国の首脳は、アサド政権などすべての当事者が停戦に応じ、直ちにシリア国民への無差別爆撃をやめるべきだと強調しました。
そのうえで、シリアの安定のため政権移行に関与していく方針を確認するとともに、人道支援策についても協議しました。
シリアの停戦を巡っては、アサド政権と反政府勢力が条件つきで応じる姿勢を示しましたが、各地で戦闘が激しさを増していて、支配地域をさらに広げるため攻撃を強化しているもようです。

The US is discussing “Plan B” options should the Syrian ceasefire and political transition fail, Secretary of State John Kerry told a Senate committee, while praising Moscow’s crucial role in brokering the agreement reached by the US and Russia.
“There is a significant discussion taking place now about a Plan B in the event that we do not succeed at the [negotiating] table,” Kerry said while giving testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday.
