米メディアによると「刑事コロンボ」の原作者の一人、ウィリアム・リンク氏が27日、心臓疾患のためロサンゼルスで死去した。87歳。「刑事コロンボ」は60年代以降、人気テレビシリーズとなった。
10代から友人だったリチャード・レビンソン氏（87年死去）と推理小説などを執筆。犯人を先に明かす「倒叙」と呼ばれるスタイルを駆使、鋭い推理で相手を追い詰めるコロンボのキャラクターを生み出した。他にも「ジェシカおばさんの事件簿」など、数多くの犯罪ドラマで原作者やプロデューサーを務めた。
