アメリカの先月の雇用統計が発表され、農業分野以外の就業者は前の月と比べて53万1000人増え、40万人台の増加を見込んでいた市場の予想を上回りました。
就業者の数は8月と9月に変異ウイルスの感染拡大などの影響で伸び悩んでいましたが、今回は順調な回復が示されました。
また、失業率は0.2ポイント改善して4.6％でした。

5日のニューヨーク株式市場、ダウ平均株価の終値は前日に比べて203ドル72セント高い3万6327ドル95セントと2営業日ぶりに最高値を更新しました。
この日発表されたアメリカの先月の雇用統計で、農業分野以外の就業者の伸びが市場の予想を上回ったことや、製薬大手ファイザーが、開発中の新型コロナウイルスの増殖を抑えるための飲み薬の効果を発表したことへの期待感から、観光業に関連する銘柄を中心に買い注文が増えました。
IT関連銘柄の多いナスダックの株価指数も上昇し、7営業日連続で最高値を更新しました。
また、債券市場では、アメリカの中央銀行にあたるFRB＝連邦準備制度理事会が早期に利上げに踏み切ることへの警戒感が和らいだことを背景に、アメリカの国債が買われ、長期金利が1か月ぶりに1.4％台まで下がりました。
市場関係者は「アメリカ経済の回復が続くと期待して買い注文を出す投資家が多かった。このところ上昇傾向にあった長期金利の低下も安心材料となった」と話しています。
